Volunteers

Important information about volunteering during COVID-19

If you wish to volunteer during COVID-19, we have a limited number of opportunities available. Volunteer placements are currently in areas where support is needed the most in response to the pandemic. All volunteer applications and placements are risk assessed to ensure volunteer safety.

If applicants are deemed to be ‘high risk’, their application will be postponed until further national guidance is released.

Volunteering at SaTH

All of our volunteers play an important role within our hospitals at SaTH, working alongside staff in a variety of departments. Volunteering is fun and rewarding, it allows you to meet new people, make new friends and try new things – it can even keep you active, mentally and physically. Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds and we really value the different skills, outlooks and experiences that our volunteers bring to the organisation.

You can make a real difference to the experience of our patients, relatives and staff. As a volunteer you will meet lots of new people, and join a growing volunteer community at SaTH. Many people volunteer to gain experience in a hospital setting, learning and sharing skills, and it’s a great addition to CVs. Some people volunteer to give back to their community. Whatever your reason, our team would love to hear from you.

We offer many different volunteer roles, from volunteering on a ward or outpatient department to administrative roles and our new Response Volunteer role.
